We are currently reading novels by the author 'Roald Dahl.' Each student is placed in a reading group and is focused on applying reading strategies, that are taught, to their novel. Students complete activities that include learning new vocabulary, comprehension questions and reading response activities. Below is the current strategy we are working on in the classroom: Making Connections to Text.

Below is the Reading Rubric that we use in the classroom to assess our work.

Below is the schedule of rotations each week.

Story Elements
Students have been learning how to write a narrative and are now applying what they have learned to a personal narrative. Students have taken a special memory and are focusing on how to re-tell that memory using the elements of story writing.

The reading strategy of Visualization was our focus while reading the novel, The Witches by Roald Dahl, as a whole class.
